One Happy Camper

About Me
I am a 54-year-old mom, wife, teacher, writer, and follower of Jesus. I love books and music and baseball and hiking and history and movies. I enjoy driving my Jeep Wrangler and hanging out with my family and friends.
In 2025, I graduated from the University of South Carolina with my PhD in Language and Literacy, but I have been a Gamecock forever. I am also a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer on July 12, 2023. I am married to an amazing man, Marc, who just retired after teaching elementary physical education for 37 years. We have two sons: Jordan, who graduated from the University of South Carolina and now teaches social studies and coaches football, and Joel, who is a baseball player who just graduated from the University of West Virginia Institute of Technology in Beckley, WV, where he studied sports management. He is completing his MBA at Bluefield State University in Bluefield, WV, where he was a baseball player but will begin his job as an assistant baseball coach in the fall of 2026. WV.
I am active on social media; I would love to connect with you there!

My first date with Marc was Y2K New Year’s Eve, and we have spent every day together since then. We married on June 1, 2002. Our family has lived here in Gaffney since we married. In fact, Marc has lived in Gaffney his entire life. One day, I will write about how the Lord brought us together because that story is truly one that reveals God’s providence.
